Director Shavar Ross has recently signed a
distribution deal with Russell Simmons's new company,
Simmons Lathan Media Group for the acquisition of his film
"Soul to Take", a 26-minute digital short film.
The film was written, directed, produced and
edited by Shavar and marks his
directorial debut.

“Markeitha Singleton, Gisla Stringer, Erica Bond and
Dayna Guest” has been requested and accepted into the
2003 Black Harvest Film Festival at the Gene Siskel
Film Center. This entire 75 minute work-in-progress
will be screened
Sunday August 10, 2003 @ 3pm and Tuesday
August 12, 2003 @ 7:30pm. For
the Tuesday screening, a documentary film entitled
“Sisters In Cinema” will precede “If I Wuz Yo Gyrl” @ 6pm.
This is a documentary film by Yvonne Welbon
about African-American female
